Zepos Restaurant in Port Hope

We came in on New Years Day. Our server was Ruth. Although she was super busy... she still had fun with us! The meal was excellent and we would be happy to return any time! Thanks Ruth and the rest of the ganarascals!

Excellent food! Can't say the same for the service though! Server didn't smile once and acted as though any request was an imposition

My mom and I were on a roadtrip to Cobourg and decided to stop for shopping and lunch in Port Hope. So glad we chanced upon Ganarascals. The food was fantastic. Every single thing we ordered! We has the turkey club with side tandoori salad & beef brisket with side mac and cheese. Best mac and cheese i have had in a long while. Thanks you!!I'll be back and will recommend to anyone heading to Port ²!!

The food is always incredible!

I started with the pita dip, then had the Turkey club and poutine side (for only $1.50 more). The dip was delicious! It came with guacamole, smashed black beans and a mild salsa. The Turkey club was fantastic! It had 2 thick slices of braised turkey, and nice thick pieces of smoked bacon. The bun was a little small for the amount of meat and toppings, but I’m not complaining. The poutine was awesome too; the fries were thin and crispy and the gravy and cheese were perfect. If you’re in Port Hope for lunch, definitely check this place out 👍

I went in to have fries and gravy and a coffee I gave them a 10 bill and all I got back was change, it cost 9 something. Isn't that ridiculous.

Great family restaurant! Kids had their choice of games to play while waiting for their meal and got to help make their own sundaes. The food and drinks were delicious.

Great shops on the street and now there is the perfect breakfast spot here!Games for kids and adults. Lots of space. Breakfast was speedy and super delicious & filling.

This place is terrible, the worst service I have ever experienced. After 45 min, we had to ask when our breakfast was going to be ready. Absolutely awful.

The food quality is uneven. It’s great they have hush puppies but they’ve been partially burnt 3 times. The beef rib is overly fatty leaving little actual meat to eat, maybe there should be 2 on the plate.The chocolate cake tastes far too much like Sara Lee frozen cakes from the past and the caramel sauce was unpleasantly burned. An appetizer with 3 dips and pita had less than a teaspoon of each dip and it wasn’t cheap.It’s great to support local restaurants but after 3 visits with unfortunate results we aren’t going to return. They can do better, I hope they will.

The pub-ish name belies the talent within. Casual, yes, but tasty, well-prepared food served in an attractive space by friendly, attentive staff. What else is needed?

Lovely place to grab a bite to eat! I have enjoyed their comforting meals. Their breakfast are delish, good portion sizes. For lunch or dinner I recommend the meatloaf! OMG. So moist and delicious!! Great food!!

Another great meal. This place is a triple threat, coffee, gravy and the coleslaw all measure up. The staff and atmosphere is very laid back, take your time and enjoy. The tables are always clean and uncluttered. In a hurry, say the word they can push you through, but I enjoy the chance to sit and talk without being rushed. With breakfast the veggie chili, is a unique feature, tangy and substantial. The beans, dark thick and not too sweet, are a perfect balance for the chili. I had the large breakfast, my server did not bat an eye at my small requests. A piece of each multigrain and sour dough..no problem, chili side you got it. Go in eyes, stomach and heart open, Ganarascals wont disappoint! They are what I have been waiting for!

I love this place! Great new menu, although my friend misses the corn fritters. There are so many great choices and the staff is fabulous. I recommend this restaurant to any of my friends visiting Port Hope. You've got to check it out! I have never had a bad experience here, ever, and the best table is at the window, with the wing backed chairs. I could sit there all day, enjoying the view of passersby. Oh, I should mention that my daughter was delighted to see that there are vegan options for her friend!

Just returned from dinner, service was very slow one server for 8 tables but she did her best :) I enjoyed my veggie grilled sandwich, I didn't like the smoked curd on my poutine, tasted like campfire first time in my life i couldn't eat a poutine: also they use shoestring fries which are not my fav. The black bean hummus was really good but my husbands mac and cheese was very soupy but he said the taste was ok. The Mediterranean salad was good, the dressing tasted store bought. We are vegetarian and they have lots of options for vegan and gluten free also. The place was also very clean. We may try again in the future but I am in no rush, just didn't love it!

The staff are the absolute best, you will not find service like this anywhere else. Amazing food! Everything we've tried has been delicious. Perfect place to bring kids, they have lots of toys and games to play while you wait. By far our favourite place to eat in town.

Loved everything about this place. Food was good. Serving staff was attentive and friendly. We had halibut fish curry with collard greens which was the special of the day.

Great food, reasonable prices and excellent family atmosphere. If you have kids make sure you check out the old dresser at the front of the restaurant, it is filled with games, cards and best of all for my 3 year old ... cars.

This was a treat, a grilled Western sandwich with a side of their Mediterranean salad. The service was both polite and friendly. They had both tables and booths with appreciative ambient lighting. It's worth checking out with a breakfast/lunch and dinner menu.

Catchy name and read some great reviews so we decided to try it on our way through.Lots of great choices and not your typical breakfast spot. Food was served quickly, just as we wanted. Tasted delicious.Note they are a nut free facility. They have Wow Butter instead of Peanut butter for toast. Brilliant.Highly recommend. Then take a walk around gorgeous, historic Port Hope!

Stopped in for lunch on our way to Presqu'ile and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was great. Very friendly staff and lovely quiet atmosphere!

My wife and I had a fantastic breakfast here. Perfectly cooked eggs, smokey bacon, homemade potatoes. Service was fast and friendly. They're supportive of local musical talents too who come to play. I highly recommend this charming restaurant, located right in downtown Port Hope.

We ordered one salad and two hamburgers and three french fries. But we waited for more than an hour. I was a little anxious with my friends and went to the waiter, but she told me that she didn't help us record the menu content on the computer. Do you think it’s a good restaurant? But I think the food tasted good, if you want to try, you can try French fries, and hamburgers, and pasta. They are good.

So...The food was AMAZING. Truly one of the most delicious burgers I have had, my husband felt the same about the brisket. They would have actually received 5 stars - yes 5 stars! If we had an easier time getting in. Granted it was New Years Eve and the place was "fully booked." But everyone knows there is always a percentage of no shows (which there were - 3 tables were vacant through the night - so the other 5 people we uninvited upon getting in COULD HAVE been accommodated). The Royal Guard at the door was very sweet as she barred our entrance. I had to point out the 2 VACANT seats at the bar to FINALLY be allowed in! REALLY POOR customer relations. Particularly because we had communicated on Facebook (you don't want to know THAT story) and could have been told then, the place was full. Maybe they do not care that we would have brought in an additional 600 to $1000 that night - instead of $90; which we were glad to pay because the food and our server were fabulous!

I visited Ganarascals for lunch and had an excellent dining experience. The restaurant is exceptionally kid-friendly and has a fun and playful vibe. Their menu is composed of "comfort foods with a twist" and my meal was absolutely delicious. The service is absolutely amazing bar none and the staff are outrageously friendly and funny. They will ensure that every individual that comes in, leaves with a smile on their face and a tummy full of good food.
